- What’s your name, and what’s your role in Mittran Da Entertainment?
My name is Mandeep Singh, and I’m a Dhol player and long-time member of Mittran Da Entertainment. I’m proud to be one of the earliest Dhol players in Germany, with my first performance dating back to late 2004. Since around 2016, our group merged with Mittran Da Dhol, combining talents and energy.
- How old are you?
I’m 38 years old, married, and a proud father of a beautiful 18-month-old daughter.
- Musical Start – When and how did you start making music?
My musical journey began early, around the age of seven, in the traditional Sikh Gurdwara. There, I started learning classical instruments like the Tabla and Harmonium, which gave me a strong foundation in rhythm. This made picking up the Dhol much easier later on. I began playing Dhol seriously at around 18/19 years old.
- Special Skills - What unique talent or contribution do you bring to the group?
With decades of experience in the industry, I’ve naturally taken on the role of coordinator and organizer. I’m skilled at understanding clients’ needs—sometimes even before they speak them—and I often assist during events to ensure everything runs smoothly. Whether it’s supporting with the schedule, working with other artists and service providers, or making sure the photos and videos turn out great, I always focus on the details that make a difference. Internally, I support our organizational team, although since becoming a dad, I’ve stepped back slightly and let others take on more. And of course, I bring good vibes, laughs, and help keep the team connected whenever possible.
Additionally, my appearance—especially wearing a Dastaar (turban), a key symbol in the Sikh tradition—naturally draws attention on stage and adds a strong cultural identity to our performances.
